Over 200 people attended the second annual fund raising dinner in aid of the Chabad House of Hendon last Wednesday at the Hendon Hall Hotel.

A sun drenched reception in the beautiful hotel gardens was followed by dinner which opened with a specially recorded video message from Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight. Praising Judaism in general and Chabad in particular, Mr Voight said: "Although I'm not Jewish. I am in awe of everything that Judaism stands for, and I'm committed to fighting anti-Semitism wherever it grows. Without the wisdom of Judaism and Torah - life as we know it would cease to exist. Judaism has always been and always will be an instruction for the world in how to exist in peace and harmony".

Guest speaker was the Lord Leonard Steinberg founder and chairman of Stanley Leisure PLC who spoke about Jewish business ethics and his work as Peer.

Rabbi Gershon Overlander, Director of Chabad of Hendon was delighted with the evening: "It was a great success from every perspective. Everyone had a fantastic, enjoyable evening and saw first hand the important work we are doing for the Jewish community in Hendon and responded accordingly."
