Acadamy Award winning superstar Jon Voight is to address the Chabad House of Hendon's annual dinner next Wednesday evening (28th June) in a specially recorded message.

Famed for his starring roles in films such as  The Manchurian Candidate, Ali, Pearl Harbor, The Rainmaker, Mission Impossible, Heat, Deliverance and Midnight Cowboy, Jon Voight has been hailed as one of Hollywood's most enduring and powerful actors. He won an Academy Award for his performance in Homecoming and has been nominated numerous times for Oscars, and Emmy, Globe and Bafta awards.

In just 18 months since we opened our doors, thank G-d the Chabad House of Hendon has become one of the most exciting, dynamic Jewish centres in London and arguably the most dynamic Chabad centre in the country. With some 300 people passing through our doors on a weekly basis finding warmth, friendship and spiritual inspiration, Chabad House attracts people from every conceivable background.

Those who come here know that Chabad is the place where anyone can come without feeling pre-judged;our classes are thought provoking and inspiring but never pushy or patronising; our social events and Friday night dinners are fun but full of spiritual content. And our our staff have warm hearts and open minds to their fellow Jewish brothers and sisters.

Contrary to popular belief Chabad House has no outside funding - it relies solely on the generosity of the public and people such as yourself who may have experienced at first hand what we are about. To help put us on a firmer financial footing and to mark the 12th anniversary of the passing of the great Tzaddik, the Lubavitcher Rebbe - the inspiration for the founding of this Chabad House  (and all other Chabad Houses in the world) - we are having a special dinner on Wednesday June 28th at 8 pm (reception at 7pm) at the prestigious and luxurious Hendon Hall Hotel. Our guest speaker is the Lord Steinberg, founder and chairman of Stanley Leisure PLC and the Life Vice President of Conservative Friends of Israel. We have a very beautiful programme prepared and we would be delighted of you join us for the evening and show your support.

Admission to the Dinner is £75. We are also publishing an advertising brochure for the evening. We do hope you will be able to join us for the evening in order to help us help our fellow bretheren to a greater appreciation of our heritage.
